Abstract The paper presents the main approaches to developing robotics complexes of mine clearing. The article considers the types of mine-explosive devices used in foreign countries and by terrorist groups, and draws a conclusion that the upgrading of mine designs, modes of their installation and application, reduction of detection probability by means of engineering reconnaissance facilities is constantly developed. The article observes that the mining will be realized at the forefront, in the tactical depth, before troops" positions, in the areas of troop deployment and routes of troop movements. Furthermore, the important troop and logistical facilities, command centers, communication lines including waterways etc. can be mined. Therefore, it is necessary to apply robotics complexes of mine clearing for increasing the effectiveness of the detection and destruction system of mine-explosive devices as well as reducing personnel losses. The analysis of different robotics complexes of mine clearing was applied. On the basis of their base, a block diagram of a mine clearing mobile robot and a hardware composition of reconnaissance and destruction facilities of mine-explosive devices are proposed taking into account the integrated processing of reconnaissance data using advanced information technologies and wide application of destruction facilities depending on tactical conditions and types of mine-explosive devices.
