Abstract This article considers data acquisition and processing sensor system, which is a combination of three main parts: – data acquision and preprocessing subsystem; – communication module; – secondary processing subsystem. First one of these consists of a numerous microprocessor modules and is divided into three layers by a nature of tasks. These levels are united into channels, that process their data simultaneously and separately. Disruption in any module in the system will result in data loss. This paper describes one of the ways to acquire higher reliablity of the system. In particular, this paper is referred to increasing fault tolerance of data acquision subsystem. For this purpose, a reserving mechanism for input channels is added to the system. Computer reliability estimation under different system conditions, such as input channels quantity and reserve channels number is carried out.
