Abstract The purpose of this work is research of an internal luminescence of planktonic cells as one of the possible reasons of steady irregularity of distribution of a phytoplankton on a reservoir («punctuation»). During research the continuous dynamic mathematical model of planktonic populations with the stimulation of reproduction at the expense of the internal luminescence is developed. Sufficient conditions of uniqueness of the decision of a problem are received. A number of numerical experiments are executed; schedules of distribution of concentration of a phytoplankton for various entry conditions are constructed. The analysis of results has shown that the given model describes real processes in reservoirs.
