Abstract This article describes a method for calculating the data for setting coding systems configuration in noisy communication channels. The calculation is based on probability of distortions of one bit of information as independent random events. Based on this approach identifies likelihood of errors in the code depending on its length. It should be possible to make informed choices of the decoder and its parameters, because length of typing keyword specifies the number of correctable errors for encoding system, it should be possible to make informed choices of the decoder and its parameters. The results are presented in tables and displays charts graphically. Analysis of patterns formation of values depending on the length of code words and used decoder.
