Abstract In the present article the basic concepts of digital beam-forming of phased arrays are stated. The focal spot size dependence on normalized distance in near field is discussed. Principles of phased arrays acoustic field shaping in near-field, used in the developed model are presented. General arrangement of the system and field pattern distribution along the axis versus the angle at the distance of acoustic and optical focus are stated.
