Abstract The paper presents the operation principle and block diagram of the passive acoustic direction finder, which allows to sense on tone finite amplitude signal’s source (for example, sonar beacon-pinger) and to compute the range for it. This device may be used as an acoustic ship-borne equipment for safety navigation.
