Abstract Modern technology is often alarming terminology fragmentation and weak defined criteria distinguish different concepts. This work is aimed increasing certainty in the use of the terminology describing basic technologies and their combination for the application of modern computing architectures in the medium of scientific and educational organizations. We consider the concept of virtualization, the concept of cloud computing and grid computing and opportunities sharing.
