Abstract The work deals with the implementation of basic recommendations for effective and channel coding that are the most effective to date in the field of international standard coding still image ITU-T Rec. T-8xx "JPEG2000 Image Coding System". A review of the fundamental capabilities and features of the implementation of standards ITU-T Rec. T- 800 and ITU-T Rec. T- 810, and the bitrate control of the JPEG2000 codestream, which are the basis of a software system developed for the broadcasting of compressed JPEG2000 video in real time on digital communication channels under limited bandwidth communication channel. Particular attention is given to the review of the prospects of the standard JPEG2000 to transmit real-time information formed monochrome, panchromatic, multi- and hyperspectral vision system of unmanned aircraft to ground control station.
