Abstract In the report the ATR algorithms and methodics are proposed, which are founded on the methods and theory of digital image processing. The algorithms were created and investigated for the images got on the airplane board with the help of Optical Electronic System (OES) giving the possibilities to get the image streams from the earth and sea surfaces (with the objects of interest). The OES works both in visible and infra-red ranges of lighting.
