Abstract The paper deals with efficiency improving of correlation–based image processing systems for field pro rammable ate arrays. O tlined basic efficiencycriteria’s for such systems. Shows the critical for the development of high-speed systems FPGA elements, which have the main impact on a calculation speed, power consumption and final cost. Identifies the main factors, affecting the degradation of the FPGA-based algorithms performance. Provided an example of effective image processing architecture in comparison with other approaches. Showed that the effectively optimized architectures improves overall system performance of image processing systems.
