Abstract The main aim of this article is the analysis of the method’s input parameters on basis of the parametric sensitivity functions for the target distance determination in passive location. In this work the mathematical apparatus of the computing of sensitivity coefficients’ sets is shown. The analytical expression and the characteristic form of the sensitivity coefficients’ sets for the target distance determination method were turned out, on their base the influence of the input parameters accuracy on the resulting accuracy in target distance determination was investigated. Thus there is also shown the using of the sensitivity functions for the method’s input parameters analysis. Numerical examples demonstrating usability of the method are given. There was no such analysis in public works before. Main advantage of this method is using of two-position system instead of three-position system. This article could be useful for specialists during schematic design of passive ranging system.
