Abstract Research in this article consist in the estimate of the error of height’s measurement of objects located in the strict geometrical order. The mathematical model of the camcorder recording was developed and allows evaluating systematic error and identifying patterns. The ideal mathematical model of a stereo pair of video cameras, allows determining the coordinates of the points of the hexagon in the global coordinate system (GCS). Also the ratio for converting coordinates from GCS in the standard coordinate system camera SCS with following displacement of the origin are obtained; the coordinates in natural units of photo detector are calculated; the three-dimensional coordinates of the objects on the basis of SCS coordinates of their projections in the stereo pair images are reconstructed; the reverse conversion of coordinates from SCS in GCS is produced. In addition, based on the internal parameters of video cameras and the parameters of their mutual arrangement, it is possible to estimate the three-dimensional coordinates of the hexagon’s vertices on a stereo pair, to find the coordinates of the corresponding data points the conjugate points, to estimate the absolute error and to establish its dependence on the base’s length between the two video camera’s provisions and the distance of the vertices from it.
