Abstract The paper examines, on the basis of the offered criterion, the phenomenon of the resonance in an oscillatory circuit with reversed control of the attenuation size under action of an AM-signal envelope. Control circuit parameters influencing on the shape of the equivalent amplitude-frequency characteristic of the system are determined. Conditions, at which in the circuit an absolute resonance, and also R-resonance and X-resonance on side frequencies of an AM- signal applied to the input can take place, are defined.
