Abstract Detection of explosive and toxic gases is made by sensors of gases. Metal-oxide film can be used as touch elements for sensors. Research objective is development of model representation about semiconductor nanostructured layers formation in sol-gel processes and the technological solutions development of receiving gas-sensitive layers with higher gas-sensitivity and selectivity which are basis of gases sensors. In the software environment MatLab software products were developed and a computer simulation of the fractal growth structures was carried out in different conditions. The comparison of modeling results with REM-images of cupriferous films surfaces, obtained by citrate zol-gel method, has showed the coincidence with the structures that are formed in the form of the classical stochastic fractal and a fractal formed on the Eden"s model The simulation results explained the experimental researches results in the field of gas sensitivity of the materials. Recommendations on the temperature regime and quantitative composition of the original solution were proposed according to the simulation results.
