Abstract This article is a review of a common advantages of applying event model and visual programming in design of microcontroller-based devices from the standpoint of convenience, rapidness and quality. The ATMEL XMEGA microcontroller is introduced and discussed. For the developers this topic is very actual because of its par- ticular adaptability for modern hard-ware design.
