Abstract The summary imitating statistical modeling a videopath with application of a dither for increase of accuracy of measurements is lead. Inexpediency of use dither in a method of universal test files (UTF) is shown. Dependence of amplitude of quantization error on noise level in a path is defined, showing effective elimination of quantization error in presense of the regular level noise. The opportunity of use dither in UTF method for measurement of the attitude a signal/noise is shown.
