Abstract Global positioning systems (GPS) are the main means to ensure navigational safety of navigation. Using the AIS (automatic information system) on the basis of GPS in high – accuracy mode (differential mode) allows determining the relative position, parameters motion of objects with high precision to ensure joint maneuvering ship. This advantage AIS is used for assessing the risk of collision. Determining the relative position and movement parameters using AIS when working in standard mode, GPS characterizes the random error and does not provide applying for joint maneuvering. Increasing the accuracy of relative position of GPS using AIS in standard mode can be provided with centralized measurement of coordinates maneuvering vessels on time, on the same Constellation of navigation satellites specific GPS. Then the error correlation coordinate strive to 1. Modern receivers and indicators help to determine the сoordinates set by the operator from the constellation of GPS satellites. Production of measurements on the Constellation 3–4 satellites provides the definition of coordinates for a long period of time (from 3 to 8 hours, depending on the latitude location of the observer) on the distance between the joint maneuvering ships of up to 50 km. The Centralized production of measurements of the relative position can afford to provide AIS regardless of ability to use GPS in differential mode. This advantage can be realized when assessing the risk of collision. The aim of this work is: – to evaluate the impact correlation of errors coordination and joint maneuvering the ships, which are determined using GPS accuracy of determining the relative positions; – to evaluate the possibility of increasing the accuracy determining the relative position together maneuvering vessels with the use of AIS in the centralized determination coordinates on one of the GPS constellation, according to provide AIS resolution to produce dynamic information about the location and movement parameters together maneuvering ship. The purpose of the work is achieved through the development of model evaluation correlation errors definition coordinates the accuracy relative position of joint maneuvering ship.
