Abstract The paper discusses the issues of cooperation between the transmitter and receiver during the encoding and transmission of video in jpeg2000 format on the local network. Proposed structure of multithreaded transmitter and receiver which allows the best use of the resources of modern multi-core computing systems. The transmitter consists of a main thread (interface unit) and a number of slave threads: encoding circuit 1, encoding circuit 2, the SAP-packets transmitter and the SAP-packets receiver. The receiver consists of a main thread (interface unit) and a number of slave threads: RTP-packets receiver, the decoding circuit 1, the decoding circuit 2, the SAP-packets receiver. A structure and method of operation of the RTP-packets receiver based on the realization of the video frame buffer are offered. Scheme of interaction between the transmitter and the receiver based on the SAP-packages broadcasting is described. The sequence of the transmitter and receiver steps at the beginning and ending of the broadcast is described. This scheme does not restrict the number of transmitters and receivers in the same network. All of these approaches have been implemented and tested in the system of video stream using the format jpeg2000 in the programming environment Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and C.
