Abstract The goal of this study is to create a tool for UGVs" efficiency estimation. As a rule one of main efficiency factors is autonomy level of UGVs. This goal is approached by completing series of tasks. In the beginning author discusses the structure of the Transportation System (chassis) of UGVs. Then main groups of factors affecting UGVs" space autonomy are formed and consequently specified. Final part of the paper is devoted to automation of autonomy estimation. In the introduction UGVs" autonomy is discussed. Author justifies why it"s important to increase UGVs" autonomy, how it affects various applications of UGVs, and which new functional challenges it creates. Later on paper discusses the reasonability to estimate UGVs" autonomy level and what such estimation gives to UGVs" users. Next section discusses mobility module of UGVs: it"s structure and main functions. Main part of the paper explores factors affecting space autonomy of UGVs. These are classified as: factors of UGV"s mobility module, factors of UGV"s energy module, factors of environment and finally factors of UGV as of all-in-one-piece system. This paper doesn"t study each of the factors in details but gives references to results of other researchers. At the final part some thoughts are given to discuss how space autonomy level estimation could be computerized.
