Abstract The sampling theorem is considered in time domain with respect to signals of limited duration in a frequency band with upper and lower (non-obligatory zero) cutoff boundaries. The aim is to find wider sufficient conditions of sampling theorem validity for finite processes and thereby to broaden application sphere of this theorem in digital signal processing. A proof of the theorem is conducted for the base signal – a time fragment of a harmonic oscillation, – and on the superposition principle basis a generalization is made to polyharmonic process with harmonic frequencies determined in the course of the study.
