Abstract The brief overview of the current state of fire protection equipment and the laboratory of the research base in the field of fire protection in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The characteristics of some effective preservatives strength of domestic production. Authors of the article noted the need to improve the experimental methods to monitor the quality of construction products in the area of its fire safety, improve flame retardant properties of the compositions and the effectiveness of the introduced antipiriruyuschih supplements. Expressed views on prospects of development and the main directions of scientific research in the field of fire protection, to develop highly efficient flame retardants for wood structures and objectives to achieve this goal.
