Abstract This article is devoted to improve performance and reduce fire danger of polymeric materials on the basis of secondary polyolefins. The paper analyzes the effect of mineral fillers on diffusion combustion of polymers. The complex study of the impact of not decaying inorganic fillers on the physicomechanical and thermal properties of polypropylene. Smoke-forming ability filled polypropylene considered on the basis of the DSC curves, and the dependence of smoke-forming ability of polypropylene in the mode of burning and smouldering from the content of inorganic fillers in the graphs presented in this paper. On the basis of carried out research we can conclude that by rational combination of phosphate mineral fillers and plasticizers can be obtained materials on the basis of secondary polyolefins with good performance characteristics and low fire hazard.
