Abstract Composition development of flexible elastic heat- and fire- protective coatings based on organosilicon compounds for protection of fire hazardous components is presented. Siloxane rubbers were used as the binder, while a mixture of metal oxides and salts was used as the filler. Fireproof structures formed under fire exposure have fine-meshed structure and low heat conductivity. It is shown that the inorganic components at 20 % filling are effectively interacting with residual silicon matrix with forming a protective coating. The elongation at break value the coating from this composition is approaching to 650 %.
