Abstract Identified the main sources of potential emergency situations (ES) for marine waters, prevention of which is possible with the help of semi-active radar (PARLS). The advantages and disadvantages of PARLS. The characteristics of the signals target illumination and suppression methods of the direct signal. The main problem with using PARLS is receiving interference signals. To suppress unwanted direct signal from the source of illumination, there are effective methods of selection. Formulated problem that requires the development of effective methods of suppressing interfering signals from neighboring areas to the sea surface. The problem, which requires the development of effective methods suppression of interference signals from adjacent to target areas of the sea surface, are formulated.
