Abstract The goal of this work is the substantiation of a choice of optimal configuration for probedevice "Scanliner". In the scope of this work numerical results are presented for the simulation of flow around device-probe with different assembling in swirling flow. Problem definition and computing methods are defined. The RANS equations are closed with k-ωSST turbulence model. The method of solution is based on finite method algorithm. The calculation of aerodynamic coefficients for various configurations of bodies is done with different angles of attack and angular speed rotation of flow. On the basis of received results the recommendation of selection optimal configuration for the device in the form of the blunted cylinder with two disks can be given.
