Abstract Investigation on ionization current characteristic in a spark-ignition engine fueled with filled various fuels was conducted. The software for operating parameters acquisition of the spark-ignition engine was developed. The obtained data were used to analyze the combustion parameters of different fuels. The correlation between the magnitude of the ionization current, the spark- ignition engine work and the level of turbulent fluctuations in the combustion chamber was revealed. The possibility of determining the energy parameters of burning using a single ionization current sensor was found.
