Abstract The paper is focused on the key issues of teaching listening skills to engineering students within the framework of blended learning model, the aims of teaching listening skills being described and explained. Among the factors underlying successful teaching listening skills to senior students is implementing the block of tasks. When working out the task the teacher should take into consideration the place of the listening in the teaching process, the aim and the kind of listening in accordance with the teaching tasks. Owing to the fact that the proportion of students’ individual work is unprecedentedly high the tasks should be accompanied with recommendations on how to complete them, that is “Listening guide”.
