Abstract The realization of principles of C. Rogers’ approach to student-centered learning by the use of new information technology particularly by such informational resources as social networks is considered in the article. It is shown that social networks helps to organize teaching process in the way of facilitating conscious learning where the students develop their own program by themselves or in groups but not as the way of transmitting information. The principles and methods of the development of efficacious and meaningful student-centered learning environment are observed.
