Abstract Not self-conjugate modeling statement of boundary problems in acoustics of layered mediums is formulated. It allows to describe correctly experimental results of anomality character and to predict effect of self-focusing of nondirected emission by a converging wave of feedback in bottom half-space. Results of computer modeling and the data of experimental researches confirming conclusions of the theory are brought. The effect of self-focusing of not directed radiation considerably amplifies, if not directed source is in the liquid layer loaded on semispace. Results can have real application at profiling of a sea-bottom with the raised resolution on low frequencies when usual ways of formation of the directed radiation appear inefficient.
