Abstract In this article questions of ECG signals denoising based on empirical modes decomposition are considered. The main procedure of elimination of high-frequency noise is nonlinear thresholding process of separate empirical modes. The key parameter in the thresholding process is the choice of the threshold value. Quality of ECG signals denoising depends on it. The problem of determination of the threshold value is connected with nongaussian noise in empirical modes. Two ways of determination of the threshold value of empirical modes are developed for removal from them noise components. The first method is based on the analysis of phase histograms of empirical modes. The second method is based on calculation of correlation dimension of empirical modes. The virtual instrument in LabVIEW system is developed.
